Published: Oct 25, 2007
CAD Professional Mics has been engineering and manufacturing microphones for over 75 years. Starting out in 1931 as Astatic Microphones, the CAD division emerged in the late 1980’s with the introduction of the now legendary Equitek™ series of large diaphragm studio condenser microphones. These were the first studio condensers to break the $1,000 retail price barrier with the introduction of the e200 and e300. Over the past 18 years, the CAD name has become synonymous with innovative products, great value and superior fidelity all at prices that continue to make CAD Professional Microphones a highly regarded name for value and quality in the professional audio industry.
GXL2200SP Studio Pack —
A
great way to get your studio off in the right direction
At 2005 winter NAMM, CAD introduced a new series of studio condenser microphone packs that cater to the home recording musician. The GXL2200SP immediately became a top seller and a great way to get your home studio off in the right direction. In other words, the GXL2200SP delivers a lot of quality and bang for the buck!
What’s in the Box
These packs include everything required for great vocal and acoustic instrument recordings. The pack includes one GXL2200, one GXL1200 and one EPF-15A pop filter. Shock mount and mic clip are also included.
The GXL2200 is a large diaphragm studio condenser with a cardioid polar
pattern. The GXL2200’s capsule features a sophisticated, hand dampened 1’ gold
vapor deposited diaphragm. Exceptional sensitivity and low distortion make it an
outstanding performer for studio vocals as well as drum overheads and guitar
amps. A 30Hz – 20KHz frequency response make this a versatile recording tool.
Shock mount is included.
Compact and durable, the GXL1200 pencil condenser is
known for its open, transparent sound. Its transformerless design reduces
distortion and optimizes low-end response. A uniform cardioid pattern reduces
feedback while the 30Hz-20Khz frequency response allow for a full range of
instrument recording. The GXL1200’s small size, accuracy and
high SPL
capability make it ideal for miking stringed instruments, overheads, hi-hats and
cymbals. Mic clip is included.
The EPF-15A POP-Filter is a professional dual stage pop filter on a durable
gooseneck which attaches to any microphone stand for easy positioning,
effectively reducing plosives and P-pops on vocal tracks.
You owe it to
yourself to bring the CAD GXL2200SP into your recording environment. Whether
it’s an 8 track with a CD burner, or a computer based system, your vocal and
instrument recordings can count on CAD to make your recordings
count!
